Our Mission
Strengthening Veterans. Preparing Future Service Members. Building Stronger Communities.
Soul & Arrow Community Foundation’s mission is to work with communities to restore underused land and develop veteran-centered performance campuses where physical training, mentorship, education, entrepreneurship, and community service come together.
These campuses will provide veterans with free access to fitness, connection, workshops, mentorship opportunities, and resources that support a strong and purposeful transition into civilian life.
They will also provide young people considering military service with opportunities to strengthen their bodies, minds, confidence, discipline, and emotional readiness before taking the next step toward serving our country.
Soul & Arrow is veteran-centered, but open to the entire community. By bringing veterans, young people, families, local organizations, and civilian community members together, we can create environments where everyone has something to teach, something to learn, and a meaningful way to contribute.
How Our Mission Comes To Life
SUPPORTING VETERANS BEYOND THEIR SERVICE
The transition from military to civilian life can bring new challenges, but it can also open the door to new opportunities.
Soul & Arrow will provide veterans with a place to remain active, connect with others, develop ideas, explore entrepreneurship and career opportunities, and continue serving their communities in new ways.
Veterans will also have opportunities to teach workshops, mentor young people, lead programs, and share the experience, discipline, and leadership they developed during military service.
PREPARING THE NEXT GENERATION
Soul & Arrow will support adolescents and young adults considering service in the Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, military academies, or other service-focused paths.
Our programs are not intended to replace or compete with recruiting stations, poolee programs, JROTC, or official military training. They are designed to complement those efforts by helping young people develop physical readiness, emotional strength, discipline, confidence, teamwork, bearing, and resilience.
Through fitness, mentorship, workshops, and obstacle-course training, participants can gain a stronger understanding of the demands of military life and become better prepared for the journey ahead.
CREATING PLACES TO TRAIN, LEARN, AND LEAD
Each Soul & Arrow Performance Campus is envisioned as a sports and community complex that includes:
• A fitness and training facility
• Flexible classrooms and workshop space
• Programs supporting mentorship, entrepreneurship, education, wellness, and the arts
• The Oak Course, a wooden outdoor obstacle and training course designed to develop strength, endurance, confidence, teamwork, and resilience
• Space for community programs, organized training, events, workshops, and shared experiences
The campus will provide veterans and community members with opportunities to learn from one another, train alongside one another, and work together toward a stronger future.
TURNING LEAD INTO LOVE
Turning Lead into Love represents both the physical and human transformation at the heart of our mission.
At the proposed Huntington Beach site, it reflects the opportunity to help transform land affected by its former use as a gun range into something safe, active, and beneficial for the community.
It also represents a deeper transformation: turning hardship into purpose, military experience into mentorship, individual ideas into meaningful opportunities, and personal strength into service for others.
We believe land can be restored, people can find renewed direction, and communities can become stronger when they work together with purpose.
OUR FIRST CAMPUS: HUNTINGTON BEACH
Soul & Arrow is currently working with the City of Huntington Beach toward developing its first Performance Campus at the former gun range site adjacent to Huntington Central Park.
As the City completes the necessary evaluation, planning, and administrative steps, Soul & Arrow is building relationships with veterans, military recruiting offices, JROTC programs, environmental specialists, local organizations, businesses, donors, and community leaders.
Huntington Beach is intended to be the first expression of this vision and a model that may eventually help other communities restore underused land, support veterans, prepare future service members, and bring people together.
HELP US BUILD WHAT COMES NEXT
This vision will take collaboration from the entire community.
Whether you are a veteran, future service member, parent, educator, business owner, local organization, donor, or community member, there is a place for you in the Soul & Arrow mission.
Together, we can turn challenged land into opportunity, experience into leadership, and strength into service.
